Members of the Incubator Program receive a discount for services provided by the ICBR.
ICBR’s Research Laboratories provide state-of-the-art scientific expertise, training, instrumentation, and technologies to UF faculty, staff, graduate students, and other research partners throughout the state and nation. Access to these specialized and high end technologies and expertise enable users to solve investigator-designed research problems, leveraging both researcher expertise and grant resources to the maximum. The ICBR professional staff, most at the PhD level, is also committed to developing new advances in their technology areas and to passing this knowledge on to the research community. UF investigators reimburse ICBR primarily for consumable costs only, making the use of facilities and access to ICBR staff a cost effective means to accelerate research.
ICBR’s Education and Training Program develops and teaches hands-on laboratory courses and workshops which promote the use of molecular techniques in biological research and education. Designed for faculty, graduate students, technical staff, and for interested persons in the private and commercial sectors, the courses and workshops cover a full spectrum—Recombinant DNA Analysis, Genomics, Proteomics, Mass Spectrometry, Gene Expression, Molecular Markers, Antibody Applications, Cell Culture, DNA Forensics, and others.
ICBR’s Research Initiatives Program creates interdisciplinary teams to grapple with important and complex scientific problems and allows entry into high risk projects. ICBR plays a campus wide leadership role by coordinating
scientific and technical consultation with investigators who are addressing critical areas such as infectious diseases, environmental contaminants, and bioinformatics. We welcome the opportunity to help facilitate innovative and challenging research initiatives.
